Archival history
Emílio Batista Gomes nasceu em 1873. Foi vareador da Câmara Municipal de Imbituva em 1904 e participou do movimento pela emancipação da Vila de Irati, que aconteceu em 1907. Foi indicado pelas lideranças políticas para assumir a prefeitura. Iniciou no comércio com a firma do seu cunhado, Manoel Grácia, com quem trabalhou para a implantação da Colônia Gonçalvez Junior. Faleceu em 1950.
